Cookie Jam is yet another 3-color matching puzzle game in the already crowded category, competing with the very popular games like Candy Crush Saga and Panda Pop. Feature-wise, it might look like a complete clone of these games, but with a few twists. You are presented with a board containing colorful cookies.
Your objective is to swap two adjacent cookies so that at least 3 pieces in the board match up. When they do, the pieces disappear from the board and the other pieces drop down to fill up the empty spaces. Matching 4 or 5 pieces together reveal special cookies with special powers which you can use to destroy a lot more cookies in one go. Each level gives you a specific number of moves to complete it. You also can use limited power-ups for some levels such as a rolling pin, wooden spoon or an oven mitt.
Cookie Jam is strikingly similar to Candy Crush both in its gameplay and the maps and its storyline. However, the levels are much tougher. There are about levels of varying difficulty and a variety of objectives. As you complete each level and collect stars, you can unlock new challenges on the way.
The number of tries for each level is limited by the number of lives. If you use up all your lives, you need to wait for them to be regenerated automatically, or you also have the option of buying them through in-app purchases.
